Review: A Book That Demands Attention - A Great Story!

If you are looking for a great adventure story to read this summer that will keep you glued to your seat until you finish it--well then, have I got the book for you, "Junkyard Blues" by Nan Mahon and "Big Mac" McAuley! The plot would make for a good movie but the actual reading of the novel is a refreshing and fun experience. The authors have a way with words and phrasing that makes it a guilty pleasure to read.

There is a excellent balance between dialog and the narrative; however, it is the characters that make it a fun reading adventure. It is pure entertainment! It is the kind of book that you would love to have on vacation or at your bedside to pick up and read when you are looking to lose your personal problems. You will get involved in a world that most of us will never know or understand except through books like this.

This book earns "The American Authors Association's" FIVE STAR Rating and also my personal recommendation. Go out and buy it and enjoy it!

Review: Junkyard Blues- a real American novel

I found this book to be consistently exciting, to have plenty of twists, turns and intrigue while not being so layered with hidden plot items so as to be hard to sort out and follow. The personalities ring true to real people we have all known. The reader is given just enough insight into the inner workings of the major players' minds to provide a framework that allows one to feel they understand them without being condescending. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to all lovers of adventurous fiction.

The First Story

Nan became interested in writing during the third grade, when she read Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. According to Nan, “My nose was always in a book and the public library was my retreat, my second home.

That’s why I do a lot of volunteer work for the public library today. I took journalism in high school and in college as well as creative writing classes.
The first story I ever sold was to a magazine. It was a profile of a young gymkhana champion. I’m still doing profiles.”
